I will be getting a Coatimundi in the next few months and I wanted to get as much information about them. This book was recommended to me and I bought it. WHAT A WEALTH OF INFORMATION this book is. I have read it over a few times and I now have all the stuff ready for when my new baby comes I will have everything necessary to keep it happy. Then to find out that this book was written by the son of the woman that I am getting my pet from was just a hoot. I will tell anyone that if you are going to get this VERY special pet that the purchase of this book is necessary. Also it has some humorous moments in it too. It is nice to have someone who has been rasiing these types of animals for over 30 years to write a book to help those of us who are just starting. Totally recommend this book, it is an easy and short read for those who really don't like to read. If is VERY informative and also can help you make the decision if you would like to have this type of pet. Kudos to this book!!!!Product details

I found this book very educational. I found myself taking care of 30+ feral coatis here in Mexico. I bought this book to see if there was anyway to treat these guys for ticks and fleas since I cannot pick them up and touch them individually. They do let me hand feed them but there are so many of them you lose track of who is who. I did learn a lot from this book and yes they definitely like mini marshmallows and pasta.

This book has very good detailed information, and includes personal experiences that answered my questions. It also made me laugh because of the humor thrown in there. I advise you to buy this book if you are thinking of purchasing a coatimundi.
I'm helping to care for two rescued coatis, and was quite disappointed in the lack of good information in this book regarding their care. In this short 80-page book, only 55 pages have text related to the coati - the rest is fluff - and even within the 55 pages there is a lot of repetition of the same information and a lot of white space. At the end of reading I was left with more questions than answers. Although personal anecdotes are enjoyable reading, such a collection of stories isn't helpful in a book that is supposed to be a resource for raising and caring for a pet coati.
I liked this book. I like how the storys and experences were shared. It is a good First Coatimundi book. Especially if you want to learn about them, or if you are thinking about getting your first pet coatimundi. I wish this book would have been out when I got my first Coati, but it had not been published yet. It has some good genteral info in it, and definalty touches on some important subjects. I definatly suggest this book to everyone! My only wish that it would have had more in-depth info on them, and on coatimundi's behavior, and sounds.

Without a doubt the Castleberry family love Coatimundi. This is not only a guide for care but also a collection of personal experiences with these gorgeous and intelligent animals. Worthy and fun read whether you become a coati parent or not!
